Tom, by Tom Jones, reached No. 4 UK Albums Chart, No. 6 ARIA Charts, No. 4 Canadian Albums Chart, No. 2 The Official Finnish Charts, No. 6 Norwegian VG-lista, No. 5 the Sweden top list, and No. 6 US Billboard 200. It was certified Gold in the US. It contains the single Without Love (There Is Nothing). Jones began his career with a string of top 10 hits in the mid-1960s. He has toured regularly, with appearances in Las Vegas (1967–2011). Jones's voice has been described by AllMusic as a "full-throated, robust baritone". His performing range has included pop, R&B, show tunes, country, dance, soul and gospel. In 2008, the New York Times called Jones a musical "shape shifter", who could "slide from soulful rasp to pop croon, with a voice as husky as it was pretty".
