About The Record:
Can't Take My Eyes Off You, by Nancy Wilson, showcased her transition from a jazz ingenue to a soulful interpreter of contemporary songs. Produced by David Cavanaugh with arrangements by Phil Wright and Jimmy Jones, the album features a mix of covers by composers like Bacharach and David, Leonard Cohen, and Jimmy Webb, earning praise from Record World as a "bright and warm outing" for the versatile artist. The title track, originally from her 1969 album Hurt So Bad, became so popular on radio that it inspired the album’s name and anchored its success. The album includes notable tracks like Waitin' For Charlie To Come Home and songs popularized by Dusty Springfield and Blood, Sweat & Tears, blending jazz, pop, and soul elements. It entered the Billboard 200 on March 28, 1970, reflecting Wilson’s appeal to a new generation of listeners despite limited promotion from Capitol Records.
