Blue-colored variation of front cover. Vinyl plays with occasional crackles (play-graded). Cover has some scuffing, creasing and a few surface impressions, slight discoloration with darker discoloration spots (front/back). Inner-sleeve is original (IRS logo); one seam with developing split. Spine is mostly readable with mild-wear. Shelf-wear along bottom/top and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. (Not a cut-out.)

Beauty and the Beat is the debut album from all-female band The Go-Go's (featuring Belinda Carlisle). The album was preceded by the single We Got the Beat, which became a massive club hit in Europe and the US. When the album was eventually released, it steadily climbed the Billboard 200 chart, ultimately peaking at No. 1, where it remained for six consecutive weeks. The L.P. sold in excess of three million copies and reached double platinum status. It is now widely considered as one of the cornerstone albums of 1980s new wave music. It was the first, and so far the only, album entirely written and performed by an all-female band to top the charts.
