About The Record:

Never Let You Go by Rita Coolidge is a smooth collection of soft rock and adult contemporary tracks that showcases her warm, soulful voice through a mix of originals and unexpected covers from artists like Squeeze, Yaz, Ian Dury, and Joe Jackson. Standout moments include the title track I'll Never Let You Go, a heartfelt opener, along with interpretations of Tempted and the Culture Club hit Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, while fan-favorites often highlight the album's blend of tender ballads and upbeat pop elements. A unique aspect is its eclectic choice of source material from new wave and pub rock scenes, offering a fresh spin on Coolidge's signature style during the early 1980s. The album reached No. 15 on the Japanese Oricon charts, marking a solid international presence for the release.
