About The Record:

Settlin' in, by Dick Morgan Trio was released on Riverside Records and recorded in New York City on May 17, 1961. Led by pianist Dick Morgan, with Bill Takas on bass and Connie Kay on drums, the album features a mix of standards like Take the ‘A’ Train and originals such as Bash!. Its straightforward, swinging style showcases Morgan’s crisp phrasing and the trio’s cohesive interplay, rooted in the hard bop tradition. The mono vinyl release has become a collector’s item. Critics praise its unpretentious charm, making it a solid, if underappreciated, entry in Riverside’s catalog.
