About The Record:
Dino by Dean Martin is a country-pop album that continues the singer's late-career exploration of Nashville-flavored material produced by Jimmy Bowen with arrangements by Larry Muhoberac. It features a mix of covers including Kris Kristofferson songs like Just the Other Side of Nowhere and Kiss the World Goodbye along with tracks such as Party Dolls and Wine which later became a country hit for another artist and Guess Who a reworking of a 1959 R&B classic in the style of Martin's earlier rock-infused successes. An interesting aspect is Martin's laid-back charm shining through even on formulaic material he likely encountered for the first time in the studio giving personality to down-on-his-luck tunes reminiscent of his past hits like King of the Road. Historically it represents the end of an era as the final Dean Martin album to appear on the Billboard charts. No hit singles emerged from the project.
