About The Record:
The Sound of Christmas on the Radio City Music Hall Organ, by Dick Leibert, is a collection of traditional Christmas hymns and carols performed on the iconic mighty Wurlitzer organ of New York City's Radio City Music Hall. Dick Leibert, the venue's chief organist from 1932 to 1971, delivers sensitive arrangements that showcase the instrument's grand scale and rich tonal variety, creating a majestic yet intimate holiday sound. Unique in its direct tie to the historic theater organ and its live acoustic presence, the album highlights fan-favorites such as Silent Night, O Holy Night, Joy to the World, and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing alongside medleys and classics like Deck the Halls and Adeste Fideles. It stands as a historically evocative snapshot of mid-century Christmas music tied to one of America's most famous performance venues.
