Still in ORIGINAL SHRINK-WRAP (opened); Splits in shrink near both top and bottom-right of front, small missing section near top-left of back, small break on bottom-left corner. Vinyl plays with some crackles and a few light-clicks during "Overture" and "I Whistle A Happy Tune" (play-graded). Cover has a few creases, slight discoloration on exposed places (front/back); tiny surface abrasion near right of front. Inner-sleeve is original (Capitol ads); tear from opening on one side. Spine is easy-to-read with mild-wear. Minor shelf-wear across bottom-edge, slightly heavier along top-edge and corners. Opening is mostly crisp with signs of light use and divots, heavier towards top. STEREO Pressing. (Not a cut-out.)

About The Record:

The King and I was the original soundtrack for the film starring Deborah Kerr, Yul Brynner, and Rita Moreno. The Rodgers and Hammerstein musical was based on the 1944 novel Anna and the King of Siam by Margaret Landon. That novel in turn was based on memoirs written by Anna Leonowens, who became school teacher to the children of King Mongkut of Siam in the early 1860s. The film was a critical and commercial success and was nominated for 9 Oscars and won 5, including Best Actor for Brynner.
