About The Record:
Because He Lives, by the Bill Gaither Trio, is a landmark southern gospel album that captures the heartfelt faith and hope of the Gaithers during a turbulent era, most notably through its title track Because He Lives—a powerful hymn of resurrection assurance co-written by Bill and Gloria Gaither and inspired in part by the birth of their son Benjamin amid personal and societal uncertainties, making it one of the most enduring and influential Christian songs ever recorded; the album features other beloved selections such as Something Beautiful and King of Kings, which reinforce its cohesive themes of redemption, praise, and the certainty that life holds meaning because Christ lives, and the title song itself achieved extraordinary success in Christian music, earning Gospel Song of the Year honors in 1974, becoming a staple in churches worldwide, and cementing the Gaithers' lasting legacy in the genre.
