About The Record:
Always and Forever (12" Single), by Whistle, is a landmark release in the new jack swing era that helped bridge late-80s hip-hop soul with early-90s R&B balladry. The title track, a heartfelt cover of Heatwave’s 1976 classic, features Whistle’s signature blend of smooth rap verses by Garl and emotive singing from lead vocalist Jazzy Jazz, creating one of the earliest successful hip-hop/R&B remakes of a disco-era slow jam. Alongside a versatile tracklist comprising Always & Forever (Vocal), Always & Forever (The Chorus), Always & Forever (Instrumental), and Always & Forever (Acappella), with the vocal version clocking in at 4:39. The single also contains the original B-side Bad Habit and a radio edit, making it a versatile package for both urban radio and nightclub play. Always and Forever became a fan favorite and enduring wedding-song staple within the African-American community throughout the 1990s and beyond.
