About The Record:
Frank Sinatra's first appearance in "The Lucky Strike Parade" was on February 15th, 1943 and he replaced another WNEW graduate, Barry Wood, now a successful TV executive. Throughout the the years that followed, Sinatra was on and off the Hit Parade Show, constantly complaining about the rigid, old fashioned tempo's called for by the shows ultra-conservative approach and in later years fighting against the type of novelty and often unmusical tunes that the producers insisted he sing. What is most important about these shows however, is the fact that Frank sang quite a few tunes that the he never got around to record for the various labels he has appeared on. Here for the very first time his millions of fans can listen to many unfamiliar renditions. Recapturing once again the thrill of yesteryear and also hear Mr. Sinatra in a completely different setting outside of the recording studio.
