About The Record:

Music of the Sea, by Living Strings,is an interesting collection of songs about the mysterious sea. The songs are as various as the men who go to sea. The haunting Shenandoah was a song of remembrance when Ohio was the American West and the fabled Mountain Men sang it around their campfires. Ebb Tide was background music for a motion picture. Other material in this album are as diverse as Debussy, the talented Jamaican who calls himself Lord Burgess and has thrilled a whole generation of tourists on his island with Jamaica Farewell and Alex Kramer just a working songwriter who gave us the unforgettable Far Away Places. All these and many others are here, comprising an album that is betimes as wild and rollicking, as peaceful and overpoweringly lonely and, through it all, as lovely as the sea itself.
