About The Record:
I'll Be There, by Matthew Fisher, is a solo album that showcases his evolution as a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist after leaving Procol Harum, featuring a rawer sound compared to his debut Journey's End. The album, recorded in RCA's Rome studios with a quickly assembled band, reflects Fisher's attempt to establish his solo identity, though it did not achieve commercial success. Historically significant for its context, it was hastily produced following the critical acclaim of Journey's End, with Fisher navigating personal frustrations from his Procol Harum tenure, including disputes over songwriting credits for A Whiter Shade of Pale. Standout tracks include the rockers It's Not Too Late and It's So Easy, alongside the instrumental Song Without Words.
