About The Record:
The album One Fine Morning by the Canadian rock band Lighthouse, marked a pivotal moment in their career, blending jazz-rock, progressive rock, and pop with a distinctive horn and string ensemble. Historically significant for its commercial breakthrough, the album reached No. 80 on the U.S. Billboard album chart and was part of Lighthouse’s prolific period, which included performances with major symphonies and the groundbreaking rock ballet Ballet High with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. The title track, One Fine Morning, became their most successful single, peaking at No. 2 in Canada, No. 24 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and earning gold status. Another hit single, Hats Off (To the Stranger), reached No. 9 on the Canadian RPM chart and also went gold. The album’s tighter, radio-friendly sound, driven by new lead vocalist Bob McBride and producer Jimmy Ienner, solidified Lighthouse’s reputation as a leading Canadian act, earning them Juno Awards in subsequent years.
