About The Record:
White Shoes was a 1983 Emmylou Harris album, composed of an eclectic collection of material; it peaked at #22 on Billboard's Top Country Albums. A rockish version of Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend, a country remake of the Donna Summer hit On the Radio, and a version of Sandy Denny's Like an Old Fashioned Waltz were all included. Both In My Dreams and Pledging My Love hit the #9 position on the Billboard country singles chart in 1984. A reviewer on allmusic.com says, "Harris' final album with longtime producer (and husband) Brian Ahern is among her most surprising and diverse, perhaps the closest she's ever come to a straight-ahead rock LP".
