About The Record:
Fresh Azimiz, by Lil Bow Wow, featuring J-Kwon and Jermaine Dupri, was released on October 1, 2005, as the third single from his album Wanted, marking his continued evolution from child star to a mature rapper. Produced by Jermaine Dupri and LRoc, the hip-hop track peaked at No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Bow Wow’s third Top 40 single from the album, and earned Gold certifications for both sales and ringtones in the United States. The song’s lyrics, particularly the line “18 nigga, making more than your Dad see,” sparked rumors of a diss toward rapper Lil’ Romeo, though Bow Wow clarified it was inspired by LL Cool J’s The Do Wop, not a personal attack. A notable performance of Fresh Azimiz occurred at the 2006 Kids’ Choice Awards, where Bow Wow faced off in a musical duel with Chris Brown, inspired by Run-D.M.C.’s Walk This Way video. A remix featuring Mike Jones, who replaced Bow Wow’s second verse, also gained attention with its own music video.
