About The Record:

Six Million Dollar Man: The Iron Heart is a children's read-along LP featuring four original full-cast audio dramas starring the bionic hero Colonel Steve Austin. The stories include Birth of the Bionic Man, which recounts Steve's transformative origin after a near-fatal crash; Bionic Berserker, depicting a battle against a rogue bionic soldier; Man from the Future, involving time-travel threats; and the titular The Iron Heart, where Steve confronts a mechanical menace endangering national security. This release, licensed from Universal City Studios and featuring sound effects and dramatic narration, captures the mid-1970s craze for the ABC television series starring Lee Majors, which popularized cybernetic enhancement themes in pop culture. Historically significant as part of Peter Pan Records' expansive catalog of over 500 licensed children's audio adaptations from the era, it exemplifies the label's role in bridging TV tie-ins with affordable home entertainment for young audiences during the vinyl boom. The album's cover art is illustrated by comic legend Neal Adams, further ties it to the superhero media crossover of the time.
