Vinyl plays with some crackles and a few light-clicks (play-graded). Cover has a few creases; scuffing, tiny surface abrasions, and surface impressions, slight discoloration (front/back); air bubbles near bottom-right on back. Inner-sleeve is original (WB order form); one seam partially split, there is a note with track times taped to one side of inner-sleeve. Spine is partly readable with wear and thatching (crooked text). Some shelf-wear along top-edge, heavier along bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. Reprise Steamboat label. (Not a cut-out.)

About The Record:

Sit Down Young Stranger is Canadian singer Gordon Lightfoot's sixth original album and also his best-selling original album. It was released in 1970 on the Reprise Records label. The album was renamed If You Could Read My Mind shortly after release, with the song of that title reaching number 1 on the RPM Top Singles chart in Canada and number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. The album itself reached #12 on the pop chart. A small number of vinyl copies contain no title. This is because the cover was originally supposed to be just a picture of Lightfoot but it was then thought that stating the title would increase the album's sales. The untitled copies did have a small sticker on the cellophane. It read Sit Down Young Stranger. Kris Kristofferson was rumored to have provided harmony vocals on Me and Bobby McGee. According to a review on allmusic.com, "This album fits in very well with the acoustic-based music being made at the turn of the '70s. Even so, the music here is timeless, still feeling and sounding great many years after its release."
