About The Record:
Commodores 13, by the Commodores, peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Top R&B/HipHop albums. It is their first album after Lionel Richie left the group, and their last album with guitarist Thomas McClary before his departure from the band (McClary recorded a solo album for Motown Records in 1984, and then retired from the music industry). The song Turn Off the Lights was written as a sequel to 1981's Lady (You Bring Me Up). A reviewer on allmusic.com said, "it {Commodores 13} indicated that there could be life after Lionel Richie for the Commodores." Only You was released as the first single and because a top 10 A/C hit and a top 20 R&B hit.
