About The Record:

Anne Sylvestre, by Anne Sylvestre, released in 1975 by the French singer-songwriter Anne Sylvestre, is a significant work in her discography, showcasing her lyrical depth and commitment to the chanson à texte genre. Produced under her own label, Sylvestre, in collaboration with Barclay, the album reflects her feminist perspective and poetic storytelling, with musical direction by François Rauber. It captures the essence of her "Rive Gauche" style, rooted in the Parisian cabaret scene, and stands out as a testament to her independence after founding her own production company in 1972. The album is rated highly in the 1975 music scene, though specific chart performance is not well-documented. No specific hit singles from this album are noted in available sources, but tracks like Non, tu n’as pas de nom and Une sorcière comme les autres from her broader 1970s work gained significant recognition.
