About The Record:

Don’t Cha’ Think, by AFter 7, was released in 1989 as part of their self-titled debut album, is a smooth R&B track emblematic of the New Jack Swing era, produced by L.A. Reid and Babyface. It peaked at No. 25 on Billboard’s Hot Black Singles chart, remaining on the chart for 12 weeks, showcasing the group’s early success and vocal chemistry. The song’s polished production and catchy melody helped establish After 7’s presence in the late '80s R&B scene, though it was overshadowed by other singles from the album. Another hit single from the same album, Heat of the Moment, also gained significant airplay, further boosting the group’s profile. Historically, Don't Cha' Think reflects the era’s fusion of R&B and pop, contributing to After 7’s reputation as a promising act under the guidance of industry giants.
