It was soon covered by British R\u0026amp;B, beat and pop band Manfred Mann. Manfred Mann's version was released on July 10, 1964. It spent two weeks at No. 1 of the UK Singles Chart in August and two weeks at No. 1 of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in October. \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eBillboard\u003c\/span\u003e said it \"features powerful beat with Mann's solo echoed by male chorus.\" \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eCash Box\u003c\/span\u003e described it as \"a thumpin' novelty rocker that's right up the teeners' alley.\" The most successful version of \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eSha La La\u003c\/span\u003e was performed by  Manfred Mann.
