About The Record:
Save Your Love (12" Single), by Tracie Spencer, released in 1990 on Capitol Records, is a promotional extended-play vinyl featuring multiple remixes of the R&B track Save Your Love, including the To the Rescue Club Mix, Save the Drums version, and Groove Your Love edit, alongside the original radio version. As the lead single from her sophomore album Make the Difference, it marked Spencer's breakthrough, peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, her first Top 10 hit on that ranking. Historically significant, the release came when Spencer was just 14, building on her prodigious career that began at age 11 after winning Star Search's junior vocalist competition—the youngest female artist signed to a major label like Capitol. The single's club-oriented remixes highlighted the era's dance-pop and house influences in R&B, contributing to Spencer's evolution from child star to teen sensation. While Save Your Love was the standout hit from this EP, the album it promoted spawned further successes like This House (No. 3 on the Hot 100) and Tender Kisses (No. 1 on the R&B chart, earning her the 1992 ASCAP Songwriter of the Year award as the youngest female recipient).
