About The Record:
Ou Est Passee La Noce, by Beau Dommage, the second studio album by Quebec folk-rock band, fuses country-tinged folk rock with progressive experimentation, most notably in the 20-minute side-long epic Un Incident À Bois-Des-Filions (track B1), featuring orchestral arrangements, Ondes Martenot, and pedal steel guitar. It achieved historic commercial success, selling over 100,000 copies on release day to earn immediate Platinum certification, outpacing even their debut and marking a high point in 1970s Quebecois cultural expression. The record’s 100% Canadian content (certified by the 4-point MAPL icon) and poetic lyrics by Pierre Huet and Robert Léger evoked nostalgia for mid-century Montreal, while track Motel "Mon Repos" (A4) drew inspiration from Jacques Godbout’s novel Salut Galarneau!. Its four hit singles—Le Blues D'La Métropole (A1), Amène Pas Ta Gang (A3), J'Ai Oublié Le Jour (A5), and Bon Débarras (A6)—dominated Quebec radio and remain cultural touchstones.
