The Gift Goes On was Sandi Patti's first Christmas album. It includes the first recording of Merry Christmas with Love (later recorded by Clay Aiken and others). It is a song about an older woman who is alone for Christmas and has given up hope for being happy when a group of carolers comes to cheer her up by singing Merry Christmas With Love. The album features many other original and traditional Christmas songs.
