Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim personally penned additional lyrics for the songs \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003ePutting It Together\u003c\/span\u003e and \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eSend in the Clowns\u003c\/span\u003e at request of the singer. The album was a critical and commercial success, it reached four times platinum in 1995.
