About The Record:

Madrugada, by Melanie featured the singles Lover's Cross and Love To Lose Again. As with Gather Me the album featured arrangements and conduction by Roger Kellaway. The word madrugada is Portuguese for "daybreak". The album has not had an official CD release. According to a review on allmusic.com, "everything was immaculately produced (by husband Peter Schekeryk) -- the glossy, professional mix of rock with a large string section was clearly safe territory for Melanie. And nothing on Madrugada is anything less than pleasant." In November 1973, Melanie had a hit in the UK with her cover of the Carole King classic, Will You Love Me Tomorrow so, presumably to try and boost sales of Madrugada, I Am Being Guided was dropped in favor of this song for the UK release.
