The album reached No. 38 on the pop chart. \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eSummer Side of Life\u003c\/span\u003e peaked at No. 98 on the pop singles chart while \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eTalking in Your Sleep\u003c\/span\u003e peaked at No. 64. The singles reached No. 21 and No. 19 respectively in Canada. The track \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eCotton Jenny\u003c\/span\u003e would later be covered by Anne Murray, for whom it would provide a top-twenty single on the U.S. country singles chart. The song \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eLove and Maple Syrup\u003c\/span\u003e was covered by Taylor Mitchell in 2009. She lost her life in a coyote assault later that year. Nanci Griffith covered \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003e10 Degrees and Getting Colder\u003c\/span\u003e on her 1993 album, \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eOther Voices, Other Rooms.\u003c\/span\u003e The song had previously been recorded by J.D.
