About The Record:

The Warm Touch by Harry Belafonte is a collection of ten folk and calypso-influenced ballads that showcases the singer's smooth vocal delivery on contemporary singer-songwriter material from the early 1970s era, including covers of songs by James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, and Tom Rush. Produced with orchestral arrangements, the album highlights Belafonte's ongoing evolution from his calypso roots toward softer, introspective pop-folk sounds while retaining subtle Caribbean rhythmic touches that add warmth and uniqueness to the interpretations. Standout tracks include Something in the Way She Moves and Circle 'Round the Sun by James Taylor, The Circle Game by Joni Mitchell, No Regrets by Tom Rush, and Cycles, which have become notable fan-favorites among listeners appreciating Belafonte's thoughtful takes on these compositions. An interesting aspect is how the project reflects the artist's adaptability amid shifting musical trends, blending his iconic style with modern songcraft in a way that appealed to his established audience.
