About The Record:

Workshop by Chet Atkins, is a showcase of sophisticated pop and jazz stylings on guitar with no country elements, highlighting his innovative approach of laying down rhythm tracks in the RCA studio before perfecting intricate solos in his personal home workshop filled with custom-built electronic equipment. This method underscored his dedication to refining sound as a lonely craftsman, making the album historically significant for expanding instrumental guitar music's appeal to broader adult pop audiences through the emerging Nashville Sound. Fan-favorites and standout tracks include interpretations of Theme from 'A Summer Place', Whispering, Lullaby of Birdland, Hot Mocking Bird, and Tammy, praised for their melodic fingerstyle mastery and smooth orchestrations. It became his best-selling LP to date, reaching No. 7 on the Billboard Pop album charts.
