About The Record:
Let's All Sing With David Seville by David Seville and the Chipmunks is a collection of novelty children's songs that blends traditional tunes like Yankee Doodle, Old MacDonald Cha Cha Cha, and Whistle While You Work with original tracks featuring the high-pitched voices of Alvin, Simon, and Theodore. A unique aspect is its inclusion of the A-sides from the group's first three singles, showcasing the innovative speeded-up vocal technique pioneered by Ross Bagdasarian under his David Seville persona, which helped popularize the Chipmunks as a multimedia sensation. Historically significant as the debut album that built on the massive success of the Chipmunk characters, it later earned a Grammy Award for Best Album Created for Children in 1961. Fan-favorites include the playful Chipmunk Fun and the harmonica-driven Alvin's Harmonica, while the timeless holiday closer The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) remains a standout. The album itself reached No. 4 on the Billboard Best Selling Monophonic LP's chart, with hit singles The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late) at No. 1, Alvin's Harmonica at No. 3, and Ragtime Cowboy Joe at No. 16.
