About The Record:
It’s Like You Never Left, by Dave Mason, marked his return to solo work after a brief hiatus and his time with Traffic, showcasing a blend of rock, folk, and soul influences. The album, recorded in Los Angeles with notable session musicians like Jim Keltner and Stevie Wonder, captured Mason’s signature melodic style and introspective songwriting. Historically significant for its polished production and Mason’s re-emergence as a solo artist, it reflected the early 1970s’ shift toward softer, singer-songwriter rock. The album featured the hit single Baby… Please, which gained moderate radio play and chart success. Other standout tracks like Headkeeper and Every Woman also contributed to its warm reception among fans and critics.
