About The Record:
Nigel, by Nigel Olsson, is a soft rock effort showcasing the Elton John Band drummer stepping out as a lead vocalist with a polished collection of melodic pop tracks blending originals and covers. Produced with assistance from Paul Davis and featuring songwriting contributions including from David Foster, the album highlights Olsson's smooth vocal delivery across upbeat numbers and ballads. A unique aspect is its timing during Olsson's long tenure with Elton John, offering fans a rare glimpse into his solo capabilities beyond his renowned drumming and backing vocals. Standout tracks include the cover of A Little Bit of Soap and the fan-favorite Dancin' Shoes, the latter originally recorded by the Faith Band, along with originals such as You Know I'll Always Love You and Part of the Chosen Few. Dancin' Shoes reached No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 while A Little Bit of Soap peaked at No. 34.
