About The Record:

ATF, by After The Fire, is a compilation album that gathers standout tracks from the band's earlier UK releases, showcasing their evolution from progressive rock roots to a synth-driven new wave sound. A unique and historically significant aspect is that it was released in the US (under the shortened name ATF) to capitalize on the band's sudden breakthrough with the English-language cover of Falco's Der Kommissar, which became their only major international hit. Fan-favorites and popular songs on the album include energetic tracks like Laser Love, One Rule for You (a prior UK charting single), Dancing in the Shadows, Sometimes, and Sailing Ship, blending catchy hooks with new wave energy. The standout hit single Der Kommissar reached No. 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The album itself served as the band's introduction to American audiences following their 1982 disbandment, highlighting their brief but impactful presence in the early 1980s music scene.
