About The Record:

Keep You Satified, by jazz and the soul vocalist Nancy Wilson, marked a significant moment in her career as it followed her transition from Capitol to Columbia Records, showcasing her adaptability in the evolving music scene. Recorded in Japan with producer Kiyoshi Itoh and arranger Masahiko Satoh, the album features Wilson's rich, emotive vocals across a mix of pop, jazz, and R&B, including a notable cover of George Michael's Careless Whisper and a poignant rendition of Marvin Gaye's Just to Keep You Satisfied. Its lush production and Wilson's sophisticated delivery helped it reach the Top 20 on Billboard's Jazz Albums chart, reinforcing her status as a versatile "song stylist." Historically, the album reflects Wilson's mid-1980s resurgence, bridging her classic jazz roots with contemporary sounds, appealing to both longtime fans and new listeners. While no singles from the album charted on major Billboard lists, tracks like Careless Whisper and Early Morning gained significant jazz radio airplay, contributing to its commercial and critical success.
