About The Record:

Tripping The Live Fanatic-Highlights, by Paul McCartney, issued in November 1990, is a single-disc condensation of the double-CD live album Tripping the Live Fantastic, capturing vibrant performances from his 1989–1990 World Tour, his first major solo tour since the Beatles' breakup. Recorded across various global venues, it features a mix of Beatles staples like Hey Jude and Get Back, Wings hits such as Band on the Run, and solo tracks from Flowers in the Dirt like My Brave Face and This One, with the vinyl format emphasizing a curated 17-track selection. Historically significant as McCartney’s first official solo live album, it marked his triumphant return to touring after a 13-year hiatus, with the vinyl edition prized by collectors for its analog warmth and gatefold packaging. Performances, such as All My Trials (replaced by Put It There in the US) and a John Lennon tribute medley (Strawberry Fields Forever, Help!, Give Peace a Chance) released as B-sides to the Birthday single, gained attention among fans. The vinyl’s release, alongside multimedia tour documentation like the Get Back film, underscored McCartney’s enduring legacy and his reconnection with live audiences.
