About The Record:

Sweat, by The System, is a promotional vinyl release showcasing the duo's innovative blend of synth-funk and R&B, produced entirely by David Frank and Mic Murphy using advanced electronic instrumentation that pushed the boundaries of early 1980s dance music. This single features the extended Dance Version of the sultry title track Sweat on the A-side, paired with a Bilingual Dub Version and an Acapella Version of their hypnotic fan-favorite You Are in My System on the B-side, highlighting the duo's experimental approach with multilingual elements and stripped-down vocal showcases. Notably, this promo copy bears etched runouts from Atlantic Studios, adding a collectible allure for enthusiasts of electro-funk history. Historically significant as part of System's debut era, the single captures their pioneering "emoto-electro" style, which fused soulful vocals with new wave influences and laid groundwork for future electronic soul crossovers. The infectious You Are in My System remains a club staple and enduring favorite, while Sweat peaked at No. 10 on the R&B chart, cementing the duo's breakthrough in the genre.
