This album included the song \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eGreen, Green\u003c\/span\u003e, a McGuire\/Sparks composition that became the group's first hit single, peaking at No. 3 on the Adult Contemporary Charts. \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eGreen, Green\u003c\/span\u003e sold more than one million copies in 1963 and was awarded gold status. \"There exists an unwritten law that if there is to be an exchange of emotion between singer and audience, there must be understanding of the emotion expressed.
