About The Record:

Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte, by Patti Page, is a pop album featuring the singer's tender interpretations of sentimental and folk-inspired tunes, including covers like Try to Remember from the musical The Fantasticks, The Green Leaves of Summer, Jamaica Farewell, and Danny Boy. A unique aspect is its lead track serving as the theme song from the 1964 psychological thriller film Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte starring Bette Davis, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song despite not winning. The album highlights Page's warm vocal style on a mix of movie themes, standards, and gentle ballads like Can't Help Falling in Love and Scarlet Ribbons (For Her Hair). The title song proved historically significant as Page's first top ten pop hit in seven years and her final major chart success. Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 2 on the Easy Listening chart.
