About The Record:

Greatest Hits Volume I, by Lynn Anderson, is a compilation album that collects ten tracks from her early career on the independent Chart Records label, marking a transitional point just before her massive crossover success with Columbia Records. Historically significant as a snapshot of her late-1960s country roots, the album highlights her initial rise in the genre during a time when female artists were gaining prominence. It features popular songs and fan-favorites like the sassy That's A No No, the heartfelt Flattery Will Get You Everywhere, and a remake of her debut single Ride, Ride, Ride, alongside lesser-known album tracks such as Partly Bill and The Worst Is Yet To Come. A unique aspect is its odd selection, omitting several of her actual hits from the period like I'm Alright and Rocky Top while including non-singles and a cover of the classic It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels. The collection includes hit singles such as That's A No No (No. 2 on the Hot Country Songs chart), No Another Time (No. 8 country), Flattery Will Get You Everywhere (No. 11 country), Our House Is Not A Home (For It's Never Been Loved In) (No. 18 country), and It Wasn't God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels (No. 20 country).
