Vinyl plays with occasional light-crackles (play-graded). Cover has scuffing, a few creases, slight discoloration with darker discoloration spots (front/back); sticker near top-right of back. Inner sleeve is original (lyrics); one seam almost split. Spine is easy-to-read with mild-wear. Some shelf-wear along bottom-edge, heavier along top-edge, wear to corners. Tiny hole in top-left corner. Opening is crisp with signs of light use and divots. Cream colored WB label with faint lines. (Not a cut-out.)

Shadows by Gordon Lightfoot peaked at No. 87 on the Billboard charts. The album marked another significant turning point in Lightfoot's musical evolution. He moves further away from his acoustic roots through greater use of synthesisers and electric organ. The album is softer in composition than its immediate predecessors with a return to slower, more introspective ballads as compared to the faster, country style of Lightfoot's mid-1970s albums. Baby Step Back peaked at number 17 on the US Adult Contemporary chart and No. 50 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also reached number six on the Canadian Adult Contemporary chart.
