About The Record:
Have Arrived, by Oak Ridge Boys, is the third country studio album by The Oak Ridge Boys. Leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight was previously recorded by co-writer Rodney Crowell in 1978 (Ain't Living Long Like This), and by Emmylou Harris in 1978 (Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town). Dancing the Night Away was previously recorded by the Amazing Rhythm Aces in 1976 (Too Stuffed to Jump), Tanya Tucker in 1977 (Ridin' Rainbows) and by Leo Sayer in 1978 (Leo Sayer). is the third country studio album by the American vocal quartet, marking a significant step in their transition from gospel to secular country music. The album features a blend of country arrangements with innovative elements like a full horn section, and half of its tracks are covers, including songs previously recorded by artists like Rodney Crowell and the Amazing Rhythm Aces. It reached No. 3 on the Cashbox Album Charts, No. 5 on the Billboard Pop Album Charts, and was certified Gold for selling 500,000 copies. The album yielded three top-five hit singles: Sail Away, a cover of a Kenny Rogers hit, Dream On, featuring Richard Sterban^s lead vocals and originally by The Righteous Brothers, and Leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight, which became their second No. 1 country hit. Other notable tracks include Dancing the Night Away and My Radio Sure Sounds Good to Me, which remain concert favorites.
