Trumpeter\/leader Frank Assunto teams up with trombonist Fred Assunto, Jac Assunto on trombone and banjo, clarinetist Harold Cooper, pianist Stanley Mendelson and a rhythm section. The ensembles are uncrowded yet exciting, and the soloists are consistently creative within the idiom.
