About The Record:

Sunny Days, by Lighthouse, is a vibrant jazz-rock fusion record showcasing the Canadian band's signature blend of horns, strings, and rock rhythms. It marked a high point in their career, achieving gold status in Canada, but was followed by significant changes, including the departure of keyboardist Paul Hoffert due to burnout and singer Bob McBride due to substance abuse issues. The album's optimistic tone is led by the hit single Sunny Days, which reached No. 4 on the Canadian RPM charts, became a Top 40 hit in the U.S. (peaking at No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100), and earned platinum certification in Canada. Other notable singles include You Girl, which charted at No. 17 in Canada, and Silver Bird, praised for its upbeat harmonies and guitar work. Historically, Sunny Days was Lighthouse's last major album before personnel changes and declining commercial success, cementing their legacy as a leading Canadian act compared to contemporaries like Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears.
