Two singles were featured in the album:  \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eDon't Be Afraid of the Dark\u003c\/span\u003e which charted at No. 4 on Mainstream Rock and \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eActing This Way\u003c\/span\u003e which reached No. 24. The album won the 1988 Grammy for Best Contemporary Blues abum. A reviewer on allmusic.com said of the album,  \"the title is a steamy track punctuated by the Memphis Horns. The edgy and methodical \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eDon't You Even Care\u003c\/span\u003e finds Cray  on the losing end of a relationship. Although the relationship blues are stinging here, this album's best effort strays far from the formula. The oddly humorous \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eNight Patrol\u003c\/span\u003e has Cray playing armchair therapist wondering what went wrong with a drunk, and a 17-year-old girl on the corner. By song's end he can also wonder about himself, as he too hits the streets a potentially dangerous wandering psycho.  In the sprite \u003cspan style=\"font-style: italic ;\"\u003eGotta Change Rules\u003c\/span\u003e the country\/Memphis sound influence has Cray doing some strong vocalizations and taut guitar riffs.
