About The Record:

Quicksilver by Quicksilver Messenger Service, released on Atlantic Records, marked a significant reunion for the psychedelic rock band, featuring original members Gary Duncan and John Cipollina. This was their first studio album since 1975, capturing a blend of their signature San Francisco sound with a polished 1980s production. Historically, Quicksilver is notable as one of the band's final works before Cipollina's death in 1989, reflecting their enduring influence on the psychedelic and jam band genres. The album's standout hit single, What About Me, a re-recording of their 1970 classic, gained modest airplay, though it didn't replicate the chart success of earlier works. Despite mixed critical reception, the album remains a cult favorite among fans of the era's rock revival.
