About The Record:

At the Sands by Frank Sinatra is a vibrant live double album capturing the Chairman of the Board at the peak of his powers during a legendary residency at the Copa Room of the Sands Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, backed by the swinging Count Basie Orchestra with arrangements and conduction by a young Quincy Jones. It stands as Sinatra's first commercially released live album, featuring electrifying, definitive renditions of his signature standards delivered with cocky charm, impeccable phrasing, and playful audience banter, including a memorable extended monologue. Unique highlights include the high-energy opener Come Fly With Me that kicks off with jet-fueled swing, alongside fan-favorites and standout tracks such as I've Got You Under My Skin, Fly Me to the Moon, One for My Baby, and The Shadow of Your Smile, all infused with the Rat Pack-era Vegas glamour and Basie's dynamic rhythms. Historically significant as a quintessential document of mid-1960s Las Vegas entertainment and Sinatra's enduring dominance amid the rise of rock, the recording showcases his effortless command and the collaborative spark between two jazz titans. The album itself became a hit, peaking at No. 9 on the US Billboard 200 and No. 7 in the UK.
